Ms. Phyllis

2013 16.1 hand TB Mare - Jumper

Videos

Notes

Athletic, adjustable, and flashy mare that will get you noticed in any ring you point her to. Extremely lovable, willing and ready to take her next advanced teen or AA to the next level. Currently showing .9m with plenty of scope and athletic ability to go further in a professional program. Price to increase this spring/summer according to her show record as she progresses in the Jumper arena.

General Description:
Ms. Phyllis requires a confident and quiet rider that can bring out her full potential. She is eager and brave to the jumps, and exceptionally athletic with an outstanding ability to adjust her stride and maneuver turns. Phyllis has extensive show miles in the Hunter Jumper arena with young teens and AA’s but LOVES the Jumper ring where she’s carried the same levels of riders. Phyllis has a big step, will take whatever spot you ask her to, and puts total trust in her pilot’s abilities. Her deep heart girth, thick build, solid bone, and beautiful neck have left many thinking she’s a warmblood and give her the potential to produce stunning offspring.

Phyllis has no vices, requires no hormones, is a complete angel when she is in season (honestly, she’s beyond amazing when she’s in season!), is not a typical mare who will “hold a grudge”, and is sound. She retired sound from the track with no previous injuries and came from a very close friend of mine. Phyllis has an easy change, outstanding scope over fences, and a tight and tidy tuck that is sure to leave the rails up. She has some basic background in dressage as well as cross country.

Phyllis is suitable for a confident teen or AA on a budget, and will thrive in a professional program, as she relies on her human for confidence and guidance. She is very brave and honest over fences, and will jump everything the first time. If her rider tells her she can do it, she believes them. Absolutely no beginner riders or riders without trainers, please.

Details:
I pulled Phyllis off the track as a 2-year-old when her owner, and a good friend of mine, said he had a hunter for me. With only two career starts and no desire to run, I restarted her with the hunter ring in mind but she thrives as a jumper. She was restarted slowly and properly, I took time to develop her, and she has had a very light career compared to others. This mare has absolutely not been over jumped or “ridden too hard and put up wet”. She requires a confident rider with a quiet seat and hand, and goes best in her mechanical hackamore. She is a sensitive mare who gets frustrated with herself if she does something wrong, therefore requiring quiet correction, a ton of positive reinforcement, and affection. She sometimes gets anxious at the gate at shows but is easily led in.

Phyllis just received her first round of Adequan and has had no prior maintenance. She is currently in front shoes, stands for vet and farrier, and I do routine adjustments on all of mine as well as PEMF. Phyllis will self-load, bathes, clips (stands perfect for her entire body but I sedate for her ears), ties, and has good ground manners. She is inquisitive, and loving – she has never offered to nip, kick, or even swish her tail at me. She’s usually one of the top three in her pasture depending on the size of her turn out group, but she is not the alpha mare or a bully in any way.

This was my personal mare and a part of my program that I closed, which is why Phyllis is looking for her next person to continue her career. There is not a mean bone in this horse’s body but she can lack confidence in herself which is why she requires a quiet and confident rider to boost her ego. I know this sweet girl inside and out, have all her history, vet records, etc. and will openly share everything I know about her as my ultimate goal is a life long home with “her person”.

I’ll update videos and photos as she progresses through this show season and I’m happy to answer any questions to adults and professionals.
