Notes

Leipzig NSN (Banderas x Never Say Never Keur Pref/Wanroij/MilkieXX), lightly backed in 2019 as a 3 year-old, lightly trained in summer 2020, allowed to grow and mature over the winter months of 2019 and 2020. Regular training started May 2021. This gelding is honest, with an excellent work ethic and eager to please. Like both parents, he has a very strong aptitude for jumping. He is very powerful behind, often requiring his rider to hang on to his mane for take-off over jumps. He is careful, with quick reflexes, and easily adjusts his strides. His canter has very good rhythm and is balanced. He has his changes. While a "watchdog" of his small herd in the pasture, "Ziggy" will stand and stare, and often approach what he is watching (ie. deer, dog). In the ring, he is very focused on the jumps. Testing scope has him clearing 1.3 meter oxer with ease.

Sire, Banderas (Balou du Rouet x Grannus x Beach Boy) needs little introduction. Banderas is the first approved son of the sensational European stallion Balou du Rouet, to stand in North America. Banderas is a very typey athletic stallion, with a lovely expression, clearly stamped by in looks by his sire. Banderas has three very good athletic gaits, and shows a huge amount of jumping potential, he jumps in classic form, and show a lot of scope. He also has a very good temperament and good nature.
Banderas comes from a very strong dam line through dam Grisette he combines some of the best bloodlines available. His dam sire is the legendary Grannus, one Germany's greatest sires with over five million DM in earnings, he is also the sire a multiple international and Olympic jumpers, including Top Gun La Silla(Jan Tops), Grand Plaisir(Ludger Beerbaum), Grannusch(John Witaker), Burmah Grand Slam (Nick Skelton) and Imperial to name a few. Grannus is also the sire of over 60 approved stallions.
Banderas successfully completed his 70 day test at Silver Creek Farm in 2010, Banderas finished 4th overall. Some of Banderas' scores from the 70 day test Test Director scores Character "10",Temperament "9" Willingness to work "9.50" constitution "9" ridability "8.5", Free Jumping "9", Stadium Jumping "9" cross country "8.5" "walk 9" trot "7.50" canter "8"
Dam, Never Say Never, was awarded the coveted KWPN Keur Predicate, after displaying her rideability in a successful IBOP and presenting not one, but three, 1st Premium offspring! She later earned her Preferent predicate, at age 9, once her first three consecutive offspring reached studbook age. "Winnie's" talent for jumping was noted by the KWPN jury. She received high marks for her carefulness, technique, and scope, scoring 8's for technique and jumping talent, and an 8.5 for scope. The jury commented that she was an easy horse to ride with a good attitude. Winnie was 9th in the"Top Ten" list for the 2002 KWPN-NA keuring tour for her free jumping. She placed an impressive 5th place in the "Top Ten" for her IBOP, competing against many "imports"!

At her only show, a hunter primary, "Winnie" was Champion of the 3'6" division. She then became a full time broodmare. Her produce went on to compete successfully both in jumping and dressage.

Damsire, Wanroij, has sired both successful dressage and hunter/jumper horses.
Leipzig is very rideable, with a good attitude and solid foundation in his training, including standing to be mounted. He has no health or lameness issues. Feet are excellent and unshod. No vices. In type, Leipzig looks very similar to his sire, Banderas. With his fantastic brain, talent, and power and scope to spare, “Ziggy” is an excellent prospect for the big ring for the serious amateur or professional. Price is US.
