For the last two years, we’ve been blessed to have the most amazing pony in our lives. GF The One and Only (aka Mickey) is kind, smart, and patient in every way. Sadly, our daughter has outgrown our beautiful, sweet pony. And so, we start our search for the perfect youth rider(s) and home for our real-life unicorn. He’s fairly priced at $25k; we will also consider a lease in the right situation.
Mickey is a 14.1 7/8 hh black large welsh-cross pony. He’s like the Brad Pitt of the pony world - very handsome and very charming. The best thing is that he’s not only good looking, he’s also got the moves. He has been shown successfully in the Stirrups and has had success in the children’s ponies as well.
To be fair, he’s pretty much a point-and-shoot pony, thanks to our trainer, and Mickey’s desire to do his best for his rider. He’s brave and willing to do equitation fences and (just for fun) jumper style fences – he really is a three-ring pony.
If we could pick a home for Mickey, it would be one that has one or two youth riders … novice or intermediate. His new home would be full of love and have Mickey’s best interests and wellbeing as a priority. This would translate to great boarding facilities with a trainer to ensure he remains focused on his job, which for the last few years has been to keep his kid safe, teach her to ride, and to compete over fences safely and successfully.
Most recently we sent him to AZ to get some quality video and pictures. While he hadn’t shown for few months (based on the owner’s work schedule), he was awarded Reserve Champion in the children’s pony division. For 2018, he placed third for the USHJA HOTY award for Zone 8 children’s hunter pony large section. He’s more than ready and capable to show at the rated height and to take the right rider to the infamous Pony Finals.
He’s got the looks, the moves, and the right temperament to do his best. He’s really been our unicorn, and we know with the right rider, he will continue to be the unicorn pony that every parent wants for their child.
Currently boarded at White Harvest Farms and in full training with Karen Banister. For more information call Karen at 303 594 1533. Serious inquires only please. Willing to consider lease in the right situation and to the right family.
