Rico is a brave, kindhearted gelding with the talent and looks to turn heads everywhere he goes. With his dreamy, naturally balanced trot and canter, and super easy leadchange he is a joy to ride. His striking presence, including his impressive forelock, makes him a true cassanova!

As a former approved stallion and seasoned show pony with a lot of miles already, he offers the experience and confidence that every young rider dreams of. Most of his showmiles were made in the dressage sport competing at the highest national level, but we found his true talent lies in the hunter ring! In the short time that he has been in our stable, he devolped so well already. We can't wait what the future holds for this beautyiful boy!

Rico is currently enrolled in our HPA – Hunter Pony Academy program. The Hunter Pony Academy (HPA) is our in-house training program at Stal de Wielbraek, dedicated to developing the next generation of top, childproof hunter ponies for long-term success in the U.S. hunter ring.

Auction founders Robin & Sam Versteijnen, owners of Wielbraek Stables and the Hunter Pony Academy, have over fifteen years of experience in running their successful training and sales showjumping stables. While Sam is known for producing talented young horses, Robin has a huge passion for talented and trustworthy ponies. What started as a love for finding beautiful, reliable ponies and educating them to the best of their ability, has developed into a stable full of incredible ponies that have already found their forever homes all over the world.
