Looking for Tall, Handsome, and Sweet? Meet "Rip"!
Rip is a stunning 2022 homebred gelding, raised with care and consistency by his one and only owner—me! Currently standing a solid 16.3hh on the stick and still growing, he’s expected to finish over 17.0hh.
He is sired by the approved Hanoverian stallion Apiro, and out of an imported Argentinian Langraf bred mare who has produced multiple successful amateur-friendly hunters and jumpers.
Rip could truly go in any direction—he has scope for days for the jumper ring, the movement and style for the hunters or dressage, and the brain to do all of the above. He’s green, but honest—no buck, bolt, or rear.
This big guy is as kind and respectful as they come on the ground, with a naturally sweet temperament that makes him a joy to handle. He’s been lightly started under saddle by a professional (60 days - walk/trot/canter) and has shown great promise. He is home from his initial training and if he remains with me through the winter, he’ll be given time off to grow and mature although he could easily resume training now with a quick refresher, or continue maturing until spring—either path adds value.
Great Brain, Great Basics
• Excellent for the farrier
• Loves water
• Stands to be clipped
• Has been trailered and hauls/loads easily
• Easy keeper, lives in or out, gets along in a mixed herd
• 100% sound, no health or maintenance issues
Offered for sale simply to make room for the next generation of youngsters. Rather than watch him get fat over the next few months in my pasture, I would love to see Rip go to a confident amateur in a program or an aspiring professional who can help him realize his full potential. Currently priced at 35K obo. Located in IN 765-749-8000
