Basic Information
Oscar is a 2019, 7-year-old, 16.3hh Appendix gelding, double registered AQHA & APHA. He is currently located in Springfield, Ohio, a short drive from the AQHA Congress. Asking $25,000. An approved home is very important, and there is no rush to sell. His price will increase as he gains show experience.

Oscar is by The Next Detail, an accomplished Hunter Under Saddle stallion and proven sire. The Next Detail was an NSBA World Champion in Junior Hunter Under Saddle, a multiple Congress Reserve Champion, and went on to become a multiple World Champion and Congress Champion producer. His offspring have been successful in Hunter Under Saddle as well as over-fences disciplines, including Working Hunter and Hunter Hack.

Oscar carries that sought-after hunter pedigree along with the size, movement, presence, and athleticism to make him an exciting hunter/jumper prospect.

Training & Experience
Oscar was intentionally started slowly and has been jumping for approximately one year. He is green but solid, willing, brave, and forward-thinking. He is sensitive to both leg and bit and has an exceptionally comfortable canter.

He does not currently have an automatic lead change. He has carried beginner children in lessons, but that should not be interpreted to mean he is a beginner horse. He is best suited for a junior or amateur in a professional program and is not for a timid rider.

Oscar has not been rushed or overproduced. He has been given time to develop correctly, leaving plenty of upside for someone who wants a quality horse to continue bringing along. He is preparing to begin showing, and his price is expected to increase with show experience.

Soundness / Veterinary / Maintenance
Oscar is sound with no known injuries and requires no maintenance. Extensive clean X-rays are on file. A major priority when purchasing him was finding a horse with exceptionally clean radiographs; numerous horses were vetted before Oscar was selected. He has subsequently been brought along conservatively rather than rushed into a jumping career.

He has a recent Coggins, and his teeth and feet are current. He wears front shoes and is barefoot behind.

Personality & Barn Manners
Oscar is an in-your-pocket, goofy, personable horse who enjoys attention. He loads, stands for grooming, and stands for the farrier.

He enjoys having horse friends and thrives with turnout. He prefers being able to roam and live like a horse rather than spending long hours in a stall when weather permits. A home with good turnout would be ideal.

Ideal Home
Oscar would be a great fit for someone looking for a large, attractive, quality prospect with plenty of potential still ahead of him. He is best suited for a capable junior or amateur in a professional program with consistent guidance from a trainer. He is sensitive and forward-thinking, so he needs a confident rider and is not suitable for a timid rider.

He is best suited to a cooler climate.
