BroadB Bare Necessities is the small pony that everyone wants but is nearly impossible to find. A top-of-the-line small, "Bear" is currently sitting 4th in the National Small Green Pony standings and 16th in the overall National Grand Champion Green Pony Hunter standings. He is currently 3rd overall for Zone 4 "Horse of the Year" and Bear also finished 17th overall at the 2022 Pony Finals. Don't let this fool you, however, because Bear is happy to do the "learning to jump job" as well.
At only 6, Bear has a long career ahead of him. His results speak for themselves, however it's his personality that makes him a family favorite. Bear is a kid's pony first and a competition pony second. This is the pony that can gallop around the field bareback in a halter and lead rope one day, jump cross country or dress up for Halloween, then go win in the division the next. He has no maintenance, great feet, and minimal (I mean MINIMAL) to NO prep to get in the ring. Ridden exclusively by a child for the last two years, the 13 year old is now the height of an adult so unfortunately, it's time to find him a new home.
Now, let's be honest. Although his brain is AMAZING, he is still 6. If you drop the reins and run him to the ground, he will likely not get a clean lead change. He is the type that is never naughty but will teach a kid how to ride correctly without putting them in harm's way. He will happily do the lower-level jobs, but I would recommend having training rides from a "pony pro" to keep him tuned up. Bear thinks his job is to protect his rider (no complaints here!) so if he thinks a kid isn't secure, he will add. He is more whoa than go, but once you get him moving he will easily get down the lines.
Reach out to me and let's chat. Finding him a great situation is more important than the price point so don't hesitate to give me a ring. Bear is currently in NJ and will likely head back down south before the new year so don't hesitate to try him while he is up north - then you can bond with him over the winter and/or win at WEF! Plus, willing to be extra negotiable if he sells/leases before he ships back down south.

PS - There is a racetrack and grass field at his current farm so your kid can ride him on it! Come on out and see how special he is for yourself!
