Greymedows Waiting for Wine aka “Winston” is a five (5) year old grey roan Holsteiner/Welsh cross gelding. He is currently schooling @ 2’-2’ 3” at home (with the scope to jump much higher) and has been to two schooling shows already (and was a perfect gentleman!), is lifetime USEF and Lifetime USHJA and registered half welsh with the Welsh Pony and Cob Society of America, Inc. He is microchipped and up to date on everything.
Winston has a quiet rhythmic canter and a comfortable trot. He is more of a stick and spur ride who benefits from a little lunge before he is ridden (as that is part of our training routine). He lunges well and is brave and not spooky at all, with a lovely stride and a freakish jump as the fences get bigger. He is really a huge love bug who loves to be petted and groomed (and he LOVES kids!). Winston stands well to be clipped, for the vet and the farrier. He loads easily and is barefoot with no vices.
Winston has been trained by his 14 year old owner and her trainer over this past year (he was started at age four and 1/2) and recently ridden by a short stirrup level eleven year old kid who really enjoyed him.
Winston is a full brother to Greymeadows Charleston and Greymeadows Gingersnap, both fabulous local South Carolina ponies who have been successful locally and at National Pony Finals. Winston is most definitely a large division prospect who will be ready for the large green division by December 2020. He is located in Camden, SC. His price will continue to increase with more training/showing.
